Google Penguin Update and Remedies for Action

Last week Google released Peguin 3 updates and it impacts 0.3% of English search queries . If you are a webmaster then you also feel the same effect for your website either it is good or worse. In the last week of September, Google declared EMD update aiming for low-quality websites with specific matched domains which ensure that low quality sites don’t rise high in search results. Then after few days we got regular Panda Update.

I think we all know that the Google Penguin update was symbolized as the huge penalty for ‘over optimization’ as well as Black Hat SEO and this would cause an alert to the webmasters to adjust their links accordingly such as backlink profiles, eliminating bad links, introducing better links and done much more to make themselves better in the Google’s eyes. But there is no one who knows the exact points that would helps the webmasters to take what actions to make them better recovery.

Recently we gather some of information that would help you to know what you can do to prepare yourself for being Peguin friendly. Eliminating links, including links, adjusting links, changing anchor text, and other things doesn’t appear to be the most effective in getting a website return following the refresh. Some other elements that you have to take in consideration for the recovery are dealing with onsite concerns, getting rid of spammy links from website, taking away 3 way linking links, too much footer links and other similar issues that seems to be unnatural on your site would give most significant considerable impact.

This is going to be very fascinating, and also gives hopes to those who believed that all these off site links are responsible to their woes. So let us know what does this signify, and what should you do?

Answer is also here,  now you need to review your website and evaluate the outgoing links. Links which has nothing to do with your site should be removed and reciprocal links need to be examined. For the footer links,  it is not good to remove all the links but footer should not be full of links. If we go for the summary then include the links that would be helpful for the visitors.

After using the above recommendations you can think to gain the benefits of the Penguin update next time. This means to wait for the next 2-3 months. You will not see the outcomes instantaneously, but if you manage these problems these days then only you will be prepare to obtain the benefits with the next Penguin updates.

Why You Need Google Webmaster Tools Now More than Ever

Google’s Webmaster Tools is such an important service for anyone with a website. The tools provided help you do so much to analyze and improve your website. When it comes to SEO, Webmaster Tools is an excellent, free way to evaluate and improve your site, with advice from the one place it matters most – Google itself. There’s no better way to achieve insight that will help you raise your PageRank than by considering Google’s analytics with Webmaster Tools.

While Webmaster Tools has always been a useful thing to have on your side, you need it now more than ever. Recently Google launched the Penguin update to its search index algorithm, and even more recently it launched the Emanuel update. Both of these updates have brought much greater potential for perhaps the scariest thing a webmaster can deal with – negative SEO. To protect yourself against a potentially lowered PageRank due to Penguin or Emanuel, you need Webmaster Tools.

Penguin and Emanuel – Negative SEO in a Nutshell
The Penguin gives greater consideration to backlinks, and its purpose is to crack down on link spamming and link buying, which aim to artificially increase a website’s PageRank. Under Penguin, if many backlinks to a site are considered to be unnatural, it will be penalized. Emanuel is targeting websites with alleged copyright infringements. If one website has an unusually high number of copyright infringement claims against it, it will be penalized with a lower PageRank.

Negative SEO and Competition Concerns
While the majority of websites that suffer penalties based on Penguin and Emanuel will more than likely have earned them through shady backlink-building or illegal copyright violations, there is the concern that innocent sites may be penalized. Negative SEO wars can be waged against competitors, even when they aren’t in violation of anything. If a competitor creates a great deal of backlink spam to your website, or if a competitor accuses you of copyright infringement, your PageRank could suffer, and it would be against your control.

How Webmaster Tools Can Help
The most important way that Webmaster Tools can help you protect yourself against penalties is by making it easy for Google to contact you directly. If they receive a complaint about your website, they can notify you about it, and that will give you a chance to remedy the problem before you’re penalized for it. Google is sending out thousands of notifications, but it can’t send them if they don’t know how to contact a site’s webmaster. In addition, Webmaster Tools allow you to see the backlinks that are influencing your PageRank, potentially giving you a way to assess your backlinks before they catch Google’s attention at all. If you see that a website linking to you with a lot of suspicious, spammy links, unrelated content, and/or absent content, you can select “Ignore Domain,” and Google will no longer count links from that domain as backlinks to your site.

Penguin and Emanuel won’t, for the most part, affect legitimate websites, unless a competitor tries to make that happen. Even if your site is in strict compliance with Google’s policies, Google’s Webmaster Tools will help you in the unforeseen event that a competitor tries to give you some negative SEO. Without Webmaster Tools, you could miss your chance to head off the potential damage.
